Obituary

Memorial services for Alice Lemay will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Arnold Curby officiating.

Alice Lemay (Meeks) Carpenter was born October 8, 1930 to Charlie and Alta Alice (Horn) Graham in Major County, Oklahoma and passed away July 16, 2011 at the Highland Park Manor, Enid, Oklahoma.

She attended Bethel school west of Fairview. When she was 18 she moved to Coffeyville, Kansas then in 1953 to Vinita, Oklahoma. In 1964 She moved back home to Fairview. Alice worked for the Fairview Fellowship Home for 20 years and also volunteered in the Foster Grandparents Program for the Board of Education for 8 years in Enid and Fairview. She was a member of the Saron Mennonite Church.

Alice is survived by her children, Jimmy Wilson of Nixa, Missouri, Bobby L. Meeks and wife Debbie of Meno, Oklahoma, Barbara Stonehocker and husband David of Fairview, Oklahoma; brother, Dewayne Graham and wife Lela of Fairview, Oklahoma; sister, Maxine Miller of Blackwell, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Robert Meeks and Gean Carpenter, one daughter, Norma Brown, one son, Billy Meeks, two brothers, Bill and Jim Graham and two sisters, Verna Wilson and Bernice Hamilton.
