Graveside Services Allen "Al" Joseph Carey, 75, will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2020 at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview Oklahoma.  The Reverends Chuck McKinney and Brad Penner will officiate. Arrangements by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday June 24, 2020 and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 25, 2020 with the family present from 5 to 8 pm on Thursday.  .

Allan "AL" Joseph Carey was born in Goldsboro,  North Carolina on July 14, 1944 to Jean Oliver Carey and Stewart Carey. He departed this life on Father's Day, June 20, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

Al met the love of his life Barbara Schafer in 1963. Al and Barbara were married for 55 years, and through this marriage they brought into this world two wonderful sons Chad Allan Carey born in 1967 and Jeffery Scott Carey born in 1969.

Al grew up in Garden Grove, California, where he began his accomplished career in multiple endeavors. He started his journey in life working at Disney Land, while in High School and got to see Mr. Walt Disney himself on a daily basis. Al then worked for Bill Ammadon where he balanced performance engines for people such as Howard Brown (Famous Speed Boat Racer) and many of the other famous drag racers at the Orange County California speedway. Al then worked for TEXACO, Inc., in Long Beach California until 1976 when he and his family moved back to Fairview, Oklahoma. While in Fairview, Al owned several businesses which included Hy Gear Bus Repair and Sales, which later turned into Hy Gear Chrysler Plymouth and Dodge, which was then sold to Jensen's Car Dealership. Al and Barbara then open Carey Monument which is still actively open in the town of Fairview. Through these businesses Al met numerous people and great friends in the community. He never met a stranger and loved talking about anything from his drag racing days at the Orange County dragstrip in California to any current events.

Al was preceded in death by his mother Jean Oliver Carey, who was lost to an illness when he was 6 years old, his father Stewart Carey, his Step Mother Margaret Carey, and his sister Alice Hill.

Al is survived by his wife of 55 years Barbara Carey, son Chad Carey, son Jeff Carey (wife Sheilah), 2 grandchildren and numerous relatives and lifelong friends.
