Funeral Services for Arthur L. Honeyfield, 88, of Fairview, will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November9, 2010 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be 2:30 p.m. in Preston Hill Cemetery, Farry, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Arthur L. Honeyfield was born December 8, 1921 to Milo Dewey and Mary Caroline (Barricklow) Honeyfield in Medicine Lodge, Kansas and passed away November 5, 2010 at the Clinton Veteran's Home in Clinton, Oklahoma.

Art attended Farry High School until he enlisted in the United Stated Navy in 1942, during WWII. He served aboard the USS Essex as a volunteer Minute Man. He served in Guadalcanal, the Philippines, Lyte, Bougainville, and in the Pacific. He received the Good Conduct Medal. After his honorable discharge in 1945, he returned to Oklahoma. Art followed the harvest, worked for Farmer's, Hallren's Produce, and then Ewbank Water Well, drilling, from which he retired. After retirement, he mowed parks, cemeteries and yards during the summer. He played music as a hobby. Art was a member of the American Legion King Hagen Post 51 and the VFW.

He is survived by one sister, Happy Ann Weber of Enid, Oklahoma and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
