Arveda was born November 13, 1925, in Navelencia, California to Charlie and Julia Ann (Ratzlaff) Reiswig and went to be with her heavenly father on March 28, 2020 at her daughter's home in Carney, Oklahoma.  The family moved from California to Dalhart, Texas and then to a farm in the Longdale area, and she started first grade in Longdale.  She graduated from Longdale High School in 1944.  On April 22, 1944, she married, Jerald Scott Monahan in Wichita, Kan.  To this blessed union was born one son, Jerald Scott, four daughters, Judy, Mary, Veda, and Sheri.  With her husband they owned and operated   Monahan Readymix Concrete Plant from 1952 until a few years after Jerald's death in 1989.  They also farmed and ranched south of Fairview, raising Charlois cattle and growing wheat.  Arveda was married, for a short time, to Gene Hunter until his death in 2000.

Arveda enjoyed playing cards and truly loved playing Dominoes.  In her later years while living at Golden Oaks Retirement Center, she was known at the Domino Queen.  She also enjoyed fishing and was still fishing last summer.  Arveda was loved and will be truly missed.
