Aunetia Carroll's Obituary
Funeral Services for Aunetia "Nita" Carroll will be 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Charles McKinney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday; from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. and at the church prior to the service.
Aunetia "Nita" Carroll was born February 7, 1911 in Yewed, Oklahoma to Jasper A. and Josephine (Orindorf) Young and passed away September 21, 2008 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Aunetia attended school at Lambert to the 12th grade. After school, she worked at a grocery and radio store. In 1933, she met Marvin Lester Carroll and married him on October 28, 1933 in Fairview. Following the marriage, they lived close to Seiling, Oklahoma and then a year later moved to Fairview. M.L. and Aunetia were blessed with three boys, John, Marvin and Wayne. Aunetia worked for almost every café in Fairview. She worked at the Fairview Packing Plant before being employed as a cook for the Fairview Schools. Aunetia continued to work at the Fairview Schools for many years, until she retired in 1975. She loved to embroider, crochet and helped make blankets for the Fellowship Home and county jail. Aunetia loved to sew, when the boys were little she would make shirts out of feed sacks, and a few dresses for herself.
Aunetia was a member of the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene held almost every job there was in the church and was on call 24/7. In addition to her many other activities she was a volunteer on the Election Board.
Aunetia is survived by three sons, John Allen Carroll of Fairview, Marvin Lee Carroll and wife Barbra of Kingston, Oklahoma and LeRoy Wayne Carroll and wife June of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, Kevin Bruce Gary, Patricia Ann Gary, Donna Kay Nightingale, Mark Carroll, Vicki Ann Steele and Robert Lee Carroll; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband M.L. Carroll, one sister, two brothers and two granddaughters.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
