Obituary

Due to COVID, there will be a private immediate family only memorial service for Barbara Lou Reese on August 21, 2021, at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairview First United Methodist Church.  Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Barbara Lou Reese was born April 24, 1934, to William Rodney and Delores Mellor Glasgow at home in Fairview, Oklahoma. Barbara passed quickly and peacefully to her eternal reward on August 13, 2021, at Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma, surrounded by her loving family. She loved and was well loved by all who knew her. Her beautiful smile and sweet laugh will be a lasting memory.

Barbara graduated high school in Aline, Oklahoma. She married her husband Charles Reese February 1, 1953, and traveled alone to Wiesbaden, Germany where he was stationed to start their married life together. Upon her return to Fairview in 1954, she supported her husband and the entire Reese family farming operation, preparing and serving countless meals for hungry farm hands for over 20 years.

Barbara loved to fish and to vacation in the mountains of Colorado. An accomplished bridge player, she formed and enjoyed many life-long friendships through bridge club. She was a member of P.E.O. and Eastern Star. A talented seamstress, she sewed many outfits for her children, and passed on her knowledge to daughter, Cindy. She loved to paint, having taken instruction from Bill Krause. She was also proud to claim a deer nearly every season for many years.

Barbara and Charles worked together for many years in the alcohol dependency field beginning in the late 70s at the grassroots level, establishing the certification process of counselors that led to the CADC credentialing process. Her career spanned close to 40 years, ending with her last job at the YWCA Halfway House for substance abuse in 2012. She was awarded both the State of Oklahoma and the national awards for CADC Counselor of the Year, travelling to Chicago, Illinois to receive the 1998 Lora Roe Memorial Award.  Following Charles' death in 2009, she married her high school sweetheart Harvey Reeg on March 15, 2013. Harvey was a blessed addition to her life and cared for her with great devotion for the rest of her days.

Barbara is survived by her husband Harvey Reeg and her three children Cindy Fooshée, Bartlesville, OK; Brett (Debby) Reese, Fairview, OK; and Corky Reese, St. Petersburg, FL; Harvey's children Robert (Cindy) Reeg of St Louis, MO and James (Lauri) Reeg of Oklahoma City, OK; nine grandchildren: Ryan (Sasha) Reese, Reagan Reese and Rachel Reese; Bailey Reese, Barton (Chelsea) Reese, Baron (Gaige) Reese and Baylor Reese; Michael (Megan) Fooshée and David (Timmie) Fooshée and 4 great-grandchildren: Maxwell, Sophie and Elena Fooshée, and Owen Reese; Harvey's grandchildren: Matthew Reeg (Jordan Agee) and Daniel (Megan) Reeg and 3 great grandchildren: Samuel, Maxwell and Lucy Reeg.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles of 56 years, her brothers Bill, Pat, Danny and Gary Don Glasgow, sister Nita Ruth Reese, son-in-law Scott Fooshée and Harvey's daughter Wilma Reeg.
