Bernice Jane
Boehs
Dec 10, 1944 — Sep 19, 2020
Ringwood
Funeral services for Bernice Jane (Wedel) Boehs, age 75, of Ringwood, will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at the Fairview Church of God in Christ, Mennonite with burial following in the Cedar Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Bernice Jane Wedel Boehs was born on December 10, 1944, to Joe & Kathryn Schmidt Wedel. She passed away September 19, 2020, after a brief battle with cancer, reaching the age of 75 years.
Mom grew up near Ringwood, Oklahoma, and lived her entire life in Major County, never moving more than a few miles from her childhood home. She always said that the Lord knew where to plant her, and that her roots ran deep in the Ringwood area. Mom attended several different country schools and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1962.
On November 6,1964, Mom was joined in marriage to Abe Boehs. They were blessed with four sons, who were the light of her life, and loving every time they stopped in. Dad and Mom were baptized into the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite at Fairview by Minister Milton Boehs on February 20,1974. She remained faithful to her vows until the end.
Mom was a very down-to-earth, caring, praying mother with a sense of humor. Her family and cousins meant much to her. She was very interested in people and the things that were going on in the community. While homemaking was always a big part of her life, she also spent many years managing a thrift store in Ringwood, earning her many friends. In the last few years, she discovered a love of painting that enriched her life as well as the lives of those around her.
In January of this year, Mom was diagnosed with cancer and struggled with finding an acceptance of the road she was asked to walk. After a special prayer one and a half weeks before she died, she found a special grace to trust her future to God. We believe she is now at rest and free from her worries.
Those left with precious memories are her husband, Abe, of Ringwood; four sons: Cody and Yolanda, Harrisburg, Arkansas, Cally and Jenny, Baker City, Oregon, Clay and Heidi, Ringwood, Oklahoma, and Matt and Marti, Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren: Skyler, Savannah, Layne, Katelyn, Tanner, Shyanne, Easton, Dakota, Ashton, and Emerson; her sister-in-law Wanda Wedel; her dear nieces and nephews; many of her husband's family; and her close friend Venus Easley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bruce, and her sister Beverly.
Memorials can be made to the Cedar Cemetery or Cedar Christian School with the funeral home acting as custodian.
