Betty Carolyn (Halpain) Reeves Black, 81, of Longdale, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away on April 20, 2026, in Enid, Oklahoma.

Betty was born on June 14, 1944, in Brush Creek, Arkansas, to Charles and Virgie (Essmon) Halpain. She was one of sixteen children, growing up in a large, lively family where there was never a dull moment.

In 1960, Betty married Travis Reeves in Brush Creek, Arkansas, and together they were blessed with three daughters: Regina Loudermilk, Lisa Birch, and Telina Cheney. Later in life, she married Carl Black. Betty owned the Korner Bar in Fairview for over 20 years and truly loved everyone she met.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Lisa Birch of Fairview, Oklahoma; her son-in-law, Tony Cheney (Telina) of Longdale, Oklahoma; Regina Schoonover and husband Cory of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; Cherie Walters; her sisters, Trula, Lueva, Peggy, Ruth, and Ardie; her brother, Don; along with a large and loving family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Her grandchildren include Tasha Reeves; Derek Loudermilk (Brandy); Shandra Mungia (Zac); Bobbi Cook (Heath); Travis Martin (Jasmine); Kyndall; and Grayson and Kingston Cheney. She also lovingly adopted a granddaughter, Jennifer Weyrowski, who cared for her and loved her faithfully until God called her home.

She was also blessed with 24 great-grandchildren, including Paige Clark (husband Kennan), Ashlyn Bingham, Talon Loudermilk, Jaeme Loudermilk, Hendrix, Charli, Paisley, Harper, Brooklynn, Ryan, Robert, Kohlton, Sage, Elijah, Kadence, Kaden, Lexy, Austin, Daxton, Mady, Landree, Jenner, and many more she loved dearly. Her legacy continues through her great-great-grandchildren, Greyson and Seleah.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Carl Black and Travis Reeves; her daughters, Regina Loudermilk and Telina Cheney; her parents; and several siblings, including Joseph, Viola, George, William (Newt), Ima Jewel, Charles (Hoyt), Eugene, Earlene, and Maxine.

Betty loved baking, going fishing, and spending time with her family—especially the newest babies, who always brought her the biggest smiles.  She had a special way of making everyone feel at home, whether it was with a warm meal, a story, or simply her presence.

Betty will be remembered for her strength, her love, and the way she held her family together. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
