Graveside Services for Betty Lou Harrison, 97, of Fairview will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Seminole, Oklahoma.  The Reverend Adam Brinson will officiate.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Friends may sign the register book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, September 9, 2021 at funeral home.  There will be no public viewing.

Betty was born November 8 ^th , 1923 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Cecil Hobson and Elizabeth Mae (Brink) Rounsaville and passed away on September 3 ^rd , 2021.  She started grade school in Wewoka, Oklahoma continued her education in Okmulgee, Preston, and graduated from Seminole High School in May 1942.

Betty met a young man on December 31, 1937 at a New Year's Eve party and a few years later, the night of her graduation, Cecil J.R. (Wayne) Harrison proposed.  The young couple was married on November 7, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida where Wayne was stationed.  As many women did during WWII, she worked for Douglas Aircraft Plant.

Betty and Wayne were blessed with their first child, Mary Anne, in 1946 and with their second child, Cecil Wayne, in 1961.  The family moved to Fairview in 1973 and Betty's career included jobs at Montgomery Ward and the Major County Historical Society.

Betty became a member of the Methodist church in Seminole at a young age and moved her membership to the First United Methodist Church in Fairview, where she was an active member until late in life.  One activity she was proud of was her Card Mission, delivering cards to church members for birthdays, anniversaries, and loss of loved ones.  That was a very important mission to her, and she continued it into her 90's.  Betty was very much loved and will be truly missed.

Betty is survived by her son Cecil (Terri) and special friends Glenda and Gary Brinson and Paul and Katherine Faulk and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Wayne, daughter Mary Anne, and granddaughter Millie Harrison.

Memorials can be made to the Millie Harrison Scholarship Fund at Saint Mary's University in Winona, MN.
