Memorial services for Beverly J. Shepherd, 74, of Richmond, Indiana, will be at 10:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery. Rev. Rich Redinger will officiate. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Beverly J. Shepherd was born July 30, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, to J. Phil and Sybil Bush Burns and passed away January 20, 2009 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.

Beverly was raised in Fairview and attended Oklahoma and Texas Universities. She is best know as the founder of Bev's Threads, a supplier of sewing, manufacturer of embroidery and casket manufacturing components, serving all of the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. Beverly was named Female Entrepreneur of the Year in 1995.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Sid L. Shepherd; one daughter, Denise Baldwin of Houston, Texas; one son, Douglas B. Shepherd of Wichita, Kansas; one brother, Jay R. and wife Betty Burns of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Jessica Reed, Blake, Tyler and Cameron Baldwin; five great grandchildren; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents.
