Funeral services for Boyd Dale Noble, 85, of Cheyenne Valley, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ron Luka officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Star Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and at the church prior to the service.
Boyd Dale Noble was born on June 23, 1925 in the family home, in Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma to parents William H. "Bill" and Nellie (Ely) Noble. He went to be with his Savior, and join his loved ones who passed before him, on October 30, 2010 in Fairview Fellowship Home with his family by his side.
Boyd was raised and educated in Cheyenne Valley, Northwestern State College and Enid Business College. He married Vera Marie Bennett on March 3, 1946. They were blessed with three children, Jerry Boyd, Terry Bruce, and Cynthia Nell.
Through the years he taught school in Cheyenne Valley and Bethel, worked for the ASCS (15 years), served as Major County Commissioner for 10 years, with his main occupation being farming and ranching. He was a lifelong member of the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church. He won many horseshoe competitions and loved playing baseball. Boyd never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his wife Vera, of the home; two sons Jerry and wife Rita of Cheyenne Valley and Terry and fiancée Ellen of the Lake Tenkiller area; daughter Cynthia of Sapulpa, eight grandchildren Keith, Shiloh and Caleb Noble, Kim Pribble and husband Chad of Perryton, Texas, Shea Edwards and husband Matthew of Ramsen, New York, Aubry Noble and husband Jason Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, Christy Springwater and husband Steven of Park Hill, Oklahoma, Angie Burnham and husband Jamie of Custer City, Oklahoma; ten great-grandchildren, Karson Pribble, Matthew and Ruby Edwards, Jais Lee Marie Smith, Dillin, Jake, Strauss and Faith Springwater, Jarrett and Jaylen Boyd Burnham; three brothers, Jim of Alva, Allen of west of Fairview, and Charlie of Yale; and two sisters, Lois of Tyler, Texas and Rosalie of Westville.
His parents, William H. "Bill"and Nellie; brother Bud; sister Grace and Harry Stambaugh and Mildred and husband Cecil Thompson; one grandson, Trevor Noble (Terry's son) and great-grandson Ryan Keith (Jerry and Rita Noble's grandson) sister-in-laws, Eleanor, Maryanna and June Noble preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made. to the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church or the Cheyenne Valley Community Building with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc acting as custodian.
