Mass of Christian Burial for Fredrick "Butch" Donald Walenta, 56, of Fairview, will be 2:00 PM, Friday, January 20, 2023 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Okeene, Oklahoma.  Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Fredrick Donald Walenta Jr. 'Butch' was born in Fairview, OK on October 29, 1966 to Fredrick and Mary Margaret (Veach) Walenta and passed from this life in Enid, OK on January 16th, 2023.

utch grew up in Fairview and attended Fairview Public Schools. He was active in FFA, where he showed sheep and cattle, and received the State Farmer's Degree.  After graduating from Fairview High School, Butch attended college at Oklahoma State University.  He then went to work for Thompson pipeline and learned the welding trade. From there, he started his own business; Butch's Welding and Machine Shop.  Soon after, he met the love of his life, Ginny.  Butch and Ginny got married on June 3, 2006 and with this union he gained two daughters that he thought of as his own; Ashlee and Audrey. They made their home on his family farm where he farmed and raised cattle. On June 25, 2007, they welcomed their third daughter, Addisyn Nichole Walenta into their world

Butch enjoyed spending time with his daughters, including Golfing, fishing and hunting.  He also coached Addisyn's traveling softball team and was there for all of her basketball activities.  He spent countless hours with each daughter in the sheep and pig barns.  Butch created B&W (Blocker and Walenta) show pigs where he taught Ashlee, Audrey and Addisyn how to breed, sell and raise show pigs.  He was also active with FFA Boosters and served as the president for 6 years.

Butch hired on at DCP in 2011 but contracted as inspector long before that. The knowledge and experience he possessed was one of a kind.  There he met some of his closest friends and valued all of his colleagues like family.  He was with the company through many changes as well as ups and downs. With his role at DCP, he passed on much of his knowledge to his counterparts and even up to his supervisors throughout his years of service.

Butch was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, where he was an active member in the Knights of Columbus and received his third degree. He enjoyed cooking brunch for the church. One of his famous dishes was his rabbit stew.

Butch enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, grilling, deer camp, fishing, golfing, farming, and cooking his family breakfast in the mornings.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Ginny, daughters Addisyn, Ashlee Cunningham and husband Clayton, Audrey and Kyle Irvin, Father Fredrick Walenta, sister Gayla and husband Jimmy Wilder, brother-in-law Todd Ralston and wife Robyn, four grandchildren, Taytum, Tucker, Talon and one on the way, and nieces and nephews.

Preceding Butch in death is mother, Mary Margaret Walenta, brother Jeffery Scott Walenta, and father-in-law Gary Ralston.
