Memorial Services for Carl Wilbur Coffey, 68, will be 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. Chapel. Carl was cremated per his request
Carl was born, 21 November 1943 to Alva James and Itha Gertrude (McDowell) Coffey and died on 8 March 2012 at his home in Fairview. Carl grew up in the Canton area and graduated Canton High School. After school, Carl worked in various job such as grocery stores, truck driving and then worked for Ervin Ewalds Station until he started work in the oil field. He eventually became a diesel mechanic, maintaining the equipment and traveled throughout the U.S. and overseas in Spain and Oman. Carl was a Jack of all trades and mastered many. Carl was the one others called when they needed help and he expected nothing in return. His good nature and personality combined with compassion endeared him to all. Now heaven has another angel. Our tears and heavy hearts are bearable because we know he will be there to greet us when we cross to the other side.
