Carl Floyd Noble's Obituary
Funeral services for Carl Floyd Noble, 94, will be 2:00 p.m., Monday December 15, 2008, at the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marvin Stuckey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lone Star Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 14 at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Carl Floyd Noble was born in the Noble rock house in Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma to Ira Harrison Noble and Alta (Cook) Noble and died December 12, 2008 at the Summit Living Center in Okeene, Oklahoma.
Carl was raised in the Cheyenne Valley community and graduated from Cheyenne Valley High School. After graduation, he went to work with his brother. Carl was inducted into the United States Army on October 14, 1942. He served overseas 18 months in the Southwest Pacific Theatre of Operations with the 96th Quartermaster Company. Carl was awarded two campaign battle stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two stars and the Bronze Arrowhead for a beach landing. After his honorable discharge on January 14, 1946, he returned to Cheyenne Valley. Carl met the love of his life Dena Marie Franklin and they were married in the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church on January 14, 1950. After their marriage, they lived in Cheyenne Valley. In 1957, they moved into Fairview from the farm. After moving to Fairview, they were blessed with a son and a daughter.
Carl was a farmer and rancher for most of his life. He raised greyhounds and loved riding. Carl enjoyed hunting coyotes with his dogs, and often did so on horseback. During the winter, he worked for Ewbank Water Drilling for 14 years. Carl was a member of the Kidd Drug coffee club and had his 94th birthday party there.
He is survived by his wife Dena Noble; son Douglas Noble and wife Sherrie of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; daughter Sherrilee Dunn and husband Bob of Oleath, Kansas; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His parents; two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
