Memorial services for Carl Douglas Noble, 70, of Cleo Springs, will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday May 1, 2025, at the Cleo Springs Nazarene Church.  A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Lone Star Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Carl Douglas Noble finally decided to depart this earth during a crash of thunder early Saturday morning. He died as he lived: causing stress to his beloved wife and chasing storms. Anyone who knew Doug either loved him, or couldn't stand him. Born on October 17, 1954, he was adopted by Carl and Dena Noble at 6 years old. They raised Doug in Fairview, Oklahoma where he made a name for himself as a fun-loving troublemaker. When not terrorizing the town, Doug spent time with his dad on the farm in Cheyenne Valley. In 1974, he met "a fiery little blue-eyed girl" named Sherrie Conaway who ran at the sight of his long hair and beard. A shave and trim later, and Sherrie decided to give him a chance. They made their home in Celo Springs and were together for a total of 50 years. Together they raised Eric and Laura and enjoyed 6 grandchildren. While raising their kids, Doug channeled his mischievous energy into more productive avenues. He was a Boy Scout master, served on the city council, and became passionate about the volunteer fire department where he served for 20 years. He worked for Eubanks during high school, then TransOK for 18 years.  Doug took over the family farm a few years before his parents' passing, but had to slow down far too early when he began having symptoms of MS. Doug fought long and hard, but the disease slowly overtook his body. For several years, Doug could be spotted roaming around Cleo in his electric wheelchair and trapping unfortunate folks into long conversations about the good ole days. When his travelin' days were over, he loved nothing more than having visitors to talk to whether it was his kids, grandkids, or friends. Doug and Sherrie were surrounded by wonderful friends and family throughout the last years of his life. Help was only ever a phone call away, and they are eternally grateful for all of the support.

The family requests donations in Doug's name  to the Cleo Springs Volunteer Fire Department in lieu of flowers.
