Funeral Services for Carroll Ray Johnson, age 58, will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Ringwood High School Gymnasium of Ringwood Oklahoma. The Pastor Ray Rose will officiate. Burial will follow at 5 pm at the Hennepin Cemetery, Hennepin, Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009 the good Lord was having a large cattle roundup and was one cowboy short. Naturally, he looked to Oklahoma and saw Ray Johnson out feeding cattle. He knew immediately Ray was the man he needed to guide his herd. The Lord said, "Ray, I realize you are probably not ready yet, but I need you so very badly here in Heaven. Your dad Carroll said you were the man for the job. So, come on home and help me out. And Ray said, "You're the boss. I've followed you all my life; no sense in stopping now."

Carroll Ray Johnson was born to Carroll and Emlie Johnson on March 3,1951 and went home on Saturday, March 28,2009. He graduated from Elmore City High School in 1969, went to Cameron University and got his Vo-Ag Bachelor degree from Oklahoma State Univ. in Stillwater in 1974. Upon graduation, he took a job at Choctaw High School as the Vo-Ag teacher for five years. He then joined the faculty of Maysville High School in 1979 and remained there as the Vo-Ag instructor until 1999; showing many students the art of raising livestock and helping them to become successful farmers and ranchers. Thanks to Ray's high standards, student after student brought home premium sale money from the Local, County, and State Fairs. While teaching his classes and mentoring students, he earned his Masters Degree in Counseling from East Central Univ. in Ada in 1998. Wakita Public Schools needed a good High School Principal, and they lured Ray to move there in the fall of 1999. Ray's administrative skills were immediately apparent, and in only two years, Ringwood Public Schools hired him as their Superintendent. He served the district with distinction until his death. Never one to stray from his first calling. Ray had a cattle, alfalfa, and wheat farming operation in his spare time. He was a member of the Garriott Road Church of Christ in Enid, Oklahoma.

On June 10,1972 he married the love of his life, Barbara Dawn Pickett, they were blessed with two darling children, Angela Dawn Johnson and Dustin Ray Johnson. However the big moment in his life was when Angie and her husband Bobby Gallagher gave birth to his first grandchild Cole Thomas Gallagher who became Ray's pride and joy.

Ray is survived by his wife Barbara Dawn; his mother Emlie Johnson of Norman, one daughter and son-in-law Bobby and Angie Gallagher of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one son Dustin Ray Johnson of Moore, Oklahoma; one grandson, Cole Thomas Gallagher and one granddaughter (Kaydance Renee Johnson) to be born this April; two sisters, Barbara Lee and her husband Gary D. Rader of Oklahoma City Oklahoma; Brenda Kay and her husband Tony Aguilar of Norman, Oklahoma; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carroll Edward Johnson
