Funeral services for Charity Sue Levings, 38, of Isabella, will be 10:30 AM, Monday, November 28, 2022, at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, Fairview, Oklahoma. Burial will follow the service at the Cedar Cemetery.  Arrangements by the Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Charity Sue Wedel Levings was born to Victor and Emalee Koehn Wedel on March 3, 1984 at the Fairview Hospital, Fairview, Oklahoma.  She passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Thanksgiving evening, November 24, 2022 reaching the age of 38 years.

Charity enjoyed her childhood years on her parent's farm just north of Isabella, Oklahoma.  She had 1 sibling, Denver, who was her bossy older brother, and she was his pesky little sister.  She attended Cedar Christian School and concluded her education when she obtained her GED in her upper teenage years.  Charity loved animals, nature, and reading.  She spent many wonderful hours playing with her cousins Brent and Stephanie who lived just a few miles away.

When Charity was 13 years old, she gave her heart to Jesus and was baptized on May 18, 1997 into the Church of God In Christ, Mennonite by Minister Carl Nightingale.  Charity loved to sing and spent her youth life sharing her gift in the ministry of song.  She began her working career with Dr. Justin Keen in 2006, serving as his receptionist in his chiropractic clinic.  She loved her job immensely and thoroughly enjoyed all the people.  She was a bright spot in the clinic.

In the spring of 2007, she was married to me, Jason Levings on May 27th at Fairview , and we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary this year.  Two years later we built our dream home on her folk's land at the edge of the woods with a beautiful view of sunsets and stars.  She loved her cats, dogs, and any stray critter that showed up on our porch.  Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her, and she loved spoiling them every chance she got.

She supported me in my business ventures pouring concrete, selling trailers, and opening a feed/hardware store in downtown Fairview, all the while cheerfully working at the clinic and constantly making new friends.

Two years ago, she began to experience health problems and in January of 2021, she was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.  Thus began the difficult cancer journey through many valleys, challenges, and tough times.  We spent almost two years fighting against the odds, praying for a miracle of healing.  Her Doctors and Nurses at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas did all they could, but God had a different plan.  We moved to El Campo, Texas in January of 2022, and endeared ourselves to the congregation there.  Charity touched many lives in the medical world through all her treatment.  She fought a very brave, determined fight, and constantly prayed to God for strength to endure her pain and suffering.  As always in cancer journeys, we questioned God's plan and begged for healing, never doubting God could do so if He chose.  In October of this year, it became apparent all the chemo treatments, the clinical trial, and everything else we tried, was no match for her cancer.  We came home to Isabella and spent her final days making preparation for the inevitable.  After unbearable pain and suffering, she peacefully passed away with her family and friends at her bedside.   Jason faithfully stood by her side and cared for her till her final hour.  Her sister-in-law Renee also sacrificed untold hours helping any way she could.

Charity is survived by me, her grieving husband Jason, her parents Victor and Emalee Wedel of Isabella; her brother Denver Wedel and Cindy of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; 1 nephew Connor Wise of Enid, Oklahoma; 1 niece Lachlyn Wedel, Cleo Springs; special cousins Brent and Jessica Wedel, Ringwood, Oklahoma, Stephanie Wedel, Fairview; her Levings family, Jason's parents Randy and Marilyn Levings; Renee and Tony Schmidt and family Jaxon, Kaden, Mason, Morgyn; Matt and Lana Levings and family Zac, Rylee, Nicole, Austin, Shae; Travis and Kari Levings and family Madison, Britney, Jed, Hudson, all of Fairview.  Also, special friends Pat and Irma Nichols, El Campo and Amadeo Gonzales, along with many other uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends both here and at El Campo.
