Obituary

Funeral Services for Charla Dawn (Obermiller) Meyers, age 52, will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, November 15, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Fairview. The Reverend Chuck McKinney will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be Thursday, from 9:00 am. to 8:00 p.m.

Charla was born August 23, 1961 in Woodward, Oklahoma, to Charles G. "Chuck" and Betty C. (Moore) Obermiller. Her grandfather, Dr. R. G. Obermiller delivered her and she was the firstborn grandchild for both sets of grandparents. She died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Enid, Oklahoma.

Charla started school at Hominy, Oklahoma and completed the fourth grade there then moved to Fairview schools when her parents bought the Fairview Funeral Home. In elementary and middle school she was very active in 4-H, holding all offices of her local group. She won 1st in state in furniture refinishing.

Charla graduated from Fairview High School with the Class of 1979. On May 22, 1979 she married Vernon V. "Chip" Brown in Fairview, Oklahoma and they were soon blessed with two daughters, Cassidy and Chandra. Charla married Jeffrey B. Meyers October 1, 2011 also in Fairview and gained a step-daughter, Martha Melson and family. Charla was educated as a CNA and a CMA but spent most of her days as a homemaker. Charla was a member of the Fairview First United Methodist Church. She was a mother, grandmother and friend who was loved by many.

Charla is survived by her husband Jeffrey of the home, daughters Cassidy and Derek Ratzlaff and their children; Kirstyn, Wyatt and Lilly of Fairview and Jayci Vickman of Edmond, OK., Chandra Brown Christie of Lindsay, OK, parents, Chuck and Betty Obermiller, sister, Chanin and Vernon Hoehn and nephew Chancy all of Fairview, OK, step-daughter Martha and Ethan Melson and their children Ethan Jr and Aiden all of Stroud, OK.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, uncle Ralph Obermiller and aunt Ione Owens.

Memorials may be made to the Cub Scouts Pack 227 in her honor with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
