Memorial Services for Clarence Robert "Mac" McClain, 86, will be 5:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Isabella Church of the Nazarene. Clarence was cremated per his request.

Clarence "Mac" was born, August 12, 1925 in Warsaw, Ohio, to Clarence and Verna McClain. He was the eldest of 9 children of which 4 brothers and one sister preceded him. Mac died on March 10, 2012 in his Sleep at home in Isabella, Oklahoma with his wife of 59 years and 10 months by his side after a struggle with lung cancer.
Mac enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 during World War II, while still in high school,. When the war ended he returned home and finished high school. Mac enlisted again but this time in the U.S. Air Force in June of 1947. Mac was honorably discharged in 1950. After his first stint in the Air Force, he returned to civilian life and became A Police officer in Huron South Dakota where he met his life's companion and was married to Lorena Ann Schmidt from Montezuma, Kansas on May 10, 1952.
For the next four years he would work as a civilian police officer. He then reenlisted into the Air Force and continued his career in the military until his retirement in 1968. They traveled to many bases. Clarence was so sought after for his softball pitching skills as well as his basketball and tennis abilities, that the Air Force would often transferred to radar bases. He was sent to a remote base for one year and later to Viet Nam for one year in 67. When people asked him how long he was married, he always said minus two good years, afterword he was quick to wink at his wife. Following retirement Mac went back to work in St Croix Falls, Wisconsin as a police officer. Mac and Lorena were ready to stay put buying their first home. Mac immediately tilled up a large garden, bought a canoe, fishing poles, deer rifles, and for the next 20 plus years lived a care free life. Once again he retired for the last time in 1980. Soon the winters were too much for them and they bought a country home in Isabella, Oklahoma. Mac again took up the sport he loved the most golfing. He loved his golfing buddies at the Okeene golf course. At 86 he still golfed 18 holes every day until he was diagnosed with cancer.
Mac's greatest love was golfing as well as spending time with his beloved nieces and nephews. He loved to read, draw paint pictures, whittle, and bake cookies.

He leaves to morn him, his wife Lorena; 3 sisters, Marjorie Appis of Zanesville, OH, Carol Brown and husband Richard of Warsaw, OH., Celeste Jean Blake and husband Marvin of Ghanna, OH.; 3 sister-in-laws, Mabel of Fairview, Evelyn and husband Kenneth of Pairs Texas, Lenora of Red Bluff, CA.; 3 brother-in laws Jake of Fairview, OK., Lee Roy and Agnes of Texas and Lincoln of Iowa., and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed.
