A graveside service for Clarice Ruth (Wahl) Wichert, 94, of Fairview, Oklahoma will be held at 1 P.M., Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the North Mennonite Brethren Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
Clarice Ruth Wichert was born December, 27, 1928 in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Henry Wahl and Lydia (Penner) Wahl and passed away in Enid on May 23, 2023.
Raymond and Clarice were married July 28, 1946, and were together till the day Raymond passed in 1995. To this union they were blessed with 2 sons, Ronnie Lee and Terry Don.
She was a member of the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, bible school teacher, nursery, and listener for the Sparks Awana. Clarice was a care giver for the elderly, which she enjoyed immensely. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and belonged to the RSVP program.
Clarice enjoyed baking for her family, baking zwieback, banana bread, and sugar cookies. She was proud to be a homemaker and quilted for all of her family. She also enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens Center for lunch with her friends. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother that will be truly missed.
Clarice is survived by her 2 sons; Ronnie Wichert and wife Carolyn of Enid, and Terry Wichert and his wife Pamela of Lakewood, Colorado; one brother, Harold Wahl of Fairview; one sister, Dorothy Smith of Enid; 2 granddaughters;2 step granddaughters; 2 great grandsons; 2 great granddaughters; 3 step great grandsons; and 1 step great granddaughter, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Raymond Wichert.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairview American Legion, Post 51, with the funeral home acting as custodians of the funds.
