Memorial services for Dena Marie Noble, 89, will be 3:00 p.m., October 15, 2010, at the Cheyenne Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rich Redinger officiating. She will be cremated and her ashes will be thrown into the winds of Cheyenne Valley. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Dena Marie Noble was born in Vinita, Oklahoma to John and Dena Martin Franklin and died October 11, 2010 at the Okeene Municipal Hospital in Okeene, Oklahoma.
Dena was a member of the Shawnee of the Cherokee tribe. She graduated from Alluwe High School. After graduation Dena attended Northeastern College in Tahlequah and A.M. College in Stillwater. Later she took post graduate classes at Northwestern in Alva and received her Masters in Education. Dena taught school in Craig and Major Counties. During World War II she worked for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville.
Dena met the love of her life Carl Floyd Noble and they were married in the Cheyenne Valley Methodist Church on January 14, 1950. After their marriage, they lived in Cheyenne Valley were she helped Carl farm. In 1957, they moved into Fairview from the farm. After moving to Fairview, they were blessed with a son, Douglas and a daughter, Sherri. Dena loved gardening. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Douglas Noble and wife Sherrie of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma; daughter Sherri Lee Dunn and husband Bob of Oleath, Kansas; one sister, Mary Gregory of Bartlesville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, Carl Noble and one sister, Edna Lee Adams preceded her in death.
