Memorial Services for Dennis Dale Leisher, 61, of Fairview, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2008, at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Ronnie Hopkins will officiate. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Friends may sign the register book and view the memory table from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday and 9:00 to 5:00 p.m. Monday at Fairview Funeral Home Inc.
Dennis Dale Leisher was born March 31, 1947 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Frank Dale Leisher and Thelma Marcella (Morelan) Leisher and passed from this life on November 21, 2008 in Enid, Oklahoma after a brief illness.
Dennis was raised on the family farm place east of Okeene and graduated from Okeene High School. After graduation he attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University until he joined the military and served his country during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge Dennis attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater and became one of the OSU Cowboys biggest fans. Dennis married Andrea Stewart on December 24, 1970 and his daughter, Janel Marie was born in 1971.
Dennis was a man of all trades and talents. His most known accomplishments include the supervision of construction and building of the Fairview Public School Auditorium, Guthrie High School Renovation, Ringwood Gymnasium, Piedmont Football Complex and Northwest Area Vo-Tech Addition.
Dennis had several hobbies and interests. He was an all around cowboy, hunter, and supporter of Fairview FFA, where his love of competition continued. He followed all of OSU athletic events and was a tried and true Cowboy fan.
On July 24, 1999 Dennis and Sheila Titus were married in Okeene, Oklahoma. With the marriage he gained a son, Lane and they were later blessed with two sons, Seth and Cole.
He was an active member of the Fairview Central Christian Church, assisted with the Christian Youth Fellowship, taught the high school Sunday school class and was the candy man after children's church.
He is survived by his wife Sheila Leisher; sons Lane, Seth and Cole Leisher, all of Fairview; daughter Janel Glazier of Kingfisher, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cody, Cali, Trey and Rhett Glazier; nephew Paul Don Jr. of Fairview; great nephew Trey; and numerous relatives and friends. Above all else he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His laughter, love and zest for life will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Fairview Alumni for Ag Department Scholarships or the Central Christian Church of Fairview with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds..
