Donald Nelson Page of Midland, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the age of 67. Don, as he was affectionately called by friends and family, was born in Elsinore, California on March 14, 1944 to John Stratton Page and Rose Marie Miller Page of Ottawa, Kansas. The thired of four children, Don was a smart and active child who had propensity for getting himself into mischief. He recalled later in life that he got more stitches in grade school than he could count.
The day after his high school graduation, Don began his career in the oilfield and June 2012 would have marked his 50th year in the industry. Don worked his way through college and graduate school before deciding to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming a geophysicist. He met and married the love of his life, Linda Brewer, while attending the University of Houston. Don and Linda raised their two daughters in Lafayette, Louisiana for 29 years and spent their more recent years in Midland, Texas.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping in his younger days and then flying simulated airplanes, stargazing and listening to various education tapes in his later years. He was a life-long learner who read several books at any given time, a passion he learned from his mother.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Lorrel Darlene Page, his brother John Stratton Page II, his in-laws, Vern and Fran Brewer of Fairview, OK.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Linda Kaye (Brewer) Page of the home, his first born daughter, Lisa Kaye Page Wemple and husband Matthew of Three Forks, Montana, his second born daughter, Karen Elaine Page Menard and husband Troy of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren, Morgan and Grant Menard; sister Judith Anne Page York Minatra and family of Missouri City, Texas.
