Graveside Services for Donald Ray Dow, 74, will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Isabella Cemetery. Danny Ewbank will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Visitation and view for Donald Ray Dow, 74 of Fairview, will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Monday, October 2, 2023, at the Fairview Funeral Home Inc. Fairview, Oklahoma.
Donald was born on September 16, 1949, in Fairview, Oklahoma to Ivan and Jessie (Martin) Dow and passed from this life to the next on September 28, 2023. He grew up in Longdale, Oklahoma, graduating from Canton High School in 1967. Not long after high school, Donald met the love of his life Sandy Chambers. Donald married Sandy Chambers on September 27, 1970 at Midway Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. After their marriage the couple moved to Hennessey and Altus where Donald worked at many golf courses. They then moved back to Fairview and made their home there for 53 wonderful years. This union was blessed with two daughters, Nancy and Stephanie.
Donald started working at Country Boy Tire. After Country Boy Tire, he started working for Ewbank Water Well working on wells and being a journeyman electrician. He worked for them for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed being outdoors and was considered to be a jack of all trades. He was known all around town for his jokes. Everyone that knew Donald knew they would hear "Did you hear the one about". He was a loving husband, father, brother, papa, uncle, and friend that will be truly missed.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Jessie ( Martin ) Dow.
He is survived by his wife Sandy of the home, two daughters Nancy Dow of Enid, Oklahoma and Stephanie Dobbs and her husband Jeff of Longdale, Oklahoma. Three granddaughters Ariel Dow of Garber, Oklahoma, Sarah Gibbs of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Kaytlynn and her fiancé Abraham Stephenson of Topeka, Kansas, three grandsons Michael Dobbs of Fairview, Oklahoma, Justin Davidson of Hinton, Oklahoma, Zachary Dobbs of Fairview, Oklahoma. Two great - grandchildren Jacey Simmons and Ezra Dobbs. He is also survived by two brothers Ronald Dow of Longdale and Earl Dow and his wife Beth along with nephews and niece.
Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home acting as custodians.
