Funeral Service for Donnelle Gayle (Cottrill) Sholtess, 74, of Wichita, Kansas formerly of Isabella, Oklahoma will be Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 1:30 pm in the Isabella Church of the Nazarene followed by burial in the Bierig Cemetery northeast of Isabella.  Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Donnelle Gayle Sholtess was born April 8, 1947 in Kingfisher, Oklahoma to Donald Clare and Leona Mae (Payne) Cottrill and passed away tragically on December 8, 2021 in a car accident in Wichita, Kansas.

At a young age, with her family, she moved to the family farm at Isabella, Oklahoma and grew up there graduating from Fairview High School in 1965.  She married Jake Schmidt in 1968 and they were blessed with two children, a son Ronnie and daughter Brenda.  Donnelle was always a hard-working lady.  While raising her children, she worked for Larry Black's Sporting Goods and later in life went back to school and graduated from Phillips University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education in 1986.  She changed her profession and started teaching and love the kids she taught and they loved her.  In 1989 she got married to Howard K. Ent and they made their home in Aline.  This added a step-daughter, Lanette, to her family.

On December 12, 2020, Donnelle married her third husband Eldon Sholtess who was a high school sweet heart.  Again, her family grew with another son Kendall and daughter Indy.  No matter where Donnelle lived during her life, she was always very active in a church and this was no different in Wichita.  Donnelle and Eldon were only days away from their first anniversary when she went to be with her heavenly father.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister that will be truly missed by her family and friends.

Donnelle is survived by her husband Eldon Sholtess of Wichita, son Ronnie J Schmidt of Fairview, daughter Brenda Munger and husband Alvin of Aline, two grandsons Colton and Dillon Munger, and nine step-grandchildren, step-daughters Lanette Kay Barnett of Tulsa and Indy Fairbanks and husband Jeff of Wichita and step-son Kendall Sholtess and wife Lanlan of Beijing, China; two brothers, Sidney Cecil Watson and wife Thelda of Yukon and Kenneth James Cottrill of Isabella.

She was preceded by her parents, step dad Charles "Pappy" Becker, two husbands Jake Schmidt and Howard Ent, and two brothers Bobby Don Cottrill, and Phillip Cottrill Sr..
