Funeral Services for Doris Irene Roberts, age 85 will be Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Haskell County Cemetery, at Sublette, Kansas with the Reverend Rich Redinger officiating. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Doris was born September 26, 1927 in Powers County, Colorado to John and Katie (Eskew) Steen and died July 27, 2013, at her home in Fairview, Oklahoma. Doris grew up in Ulysses, Kansas and attended schools there. In 1947 she married Calvin Roberts and made their home there until 1963 when he accepted a transfer from his employer and they moved to Woodward, Oklahoma. After living there for one year they moved to Okeene, Oklahoma and lived until Calvin passed away in April of 1992. Needing to be closer to her children, Doris then moved to Fairview in 1996.

Doris loved sports and was a long time Kansas University fan. She enjoyed fishing as well but her greatest joy was in giving to others. She spent countless hours volunteering her time working in the Thrift shop helping those who needed something or just an ear to listen for a few minutes.

She is survived by sons Gary and Debbie of Ponca City, OK, Larry and Kim of Yukon, OK ,Steve of Fairview, OK and daughter Cheryl Landes of Fairview, OK, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, 1 brother and 1 sister, a son-in-law and daughter-in-law.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Cancer Division with the funeral home acting as custodians.
