Funeral Services for Dorothy Ward Porter, 95, of Fairview, will be 1:30 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2007 at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. The Rev. Brad Penner will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Dorothy Ward Porter was born December 9, 1912 in La Junta, Colorado to Earl and Lessa B. (Ellison) Ward and died December 17, 2007 at Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Viewing will be Wednesday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Dorothy attended La Junta schools until the eighth grade, when, with her grandparents, she moved to Oklahoma in 1926. She graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1930. Dorothy made her home with her grandparents from the age of eighteen months until she married. On July 14, 1930, she married W. Rolland Porter at Enid, Oklahoma. To this union was born one daughter, Sylvia Lee (Porter) Moore of Chickasha. Rolland passed away April 29, 1995.

She is survived by her daughter Sylvia Lee (Porter) Moore of Chickasha; two grandchildren, Teresa and Sam Littau, of Balko, Richard Allen Moore of Chickasha; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Dana Littau of Balko and Taran Nicole and Dylan Freeman of Medford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband W. Rolland Porter and son-in-law Johnny Moore.
