Dorothy Marie
White
Nov 10, 1931 — Oct 6, 2025
Fairview
Graveside Services for Dorothy Marie White, 93, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Derek Cox will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Dorothy was born on November 10, 1931 in Hubbard, Texas to Henry and Vera (Thorn) Egbert and passed from this life to the next on October 6, 2025 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
After graduating from high school, Dorothy met and fell in love with John Leroy White and on 10 November, 1950 they were married. To this blessed union was born three sons; Terry, Randall and David.
Dorothy worked many years at the C.R. Anthony store in Fairview. She was also a seamstress. She made shirts for her sons in their early grade school years and did alterations to their cloths as the boys grew up. Her love of sewing turned to make quilts. She took great pride in developing an idea for a quilt and sewing it together. She was very involved with the local Quilt Guild in Fairview and going to the sod house for meeting with the quilting lades. Dorothy loved to share her sewing knowledge with who ever wanted help. As she grew older it was harder to make and sew up the big quilts. So, she turned to making baby quilts and wall hangings. She loved sewing up quilts and things for her family. She also loved to go spend a week or two sewing with her sister Barbara. They loved spending time together. Dorothy was a quiet person, dedicated to his family who will miss her very much.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons, Terry P. White and wife Lorene of Denver, Colorado, Randall White and wife Lavonda, and David White all of Fairview, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents Henry and Vera, five siblings, and one granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to Fairview Fellowship Home with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
