Funeral services for Dorris Marie Keck, 93, of Fairview, will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 11, 2022, in the First United Methodist Church of Fairview, Oklahoma.  The Reverend David Gordon will officiate.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc..

Dorris Marie Palmer Keck was born Jan. 18, 1929, to Aleck and Mary Palmer of Okeene in her Aunt Lena Grothe's home east of Canton.  She went to her heavenly home Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at the Fairview Regional Medical Center.

Dorris's childhood and adolescent life was spent with her family making their home in Okeene where she was the youngest of four children.  She and her three older brothers Merle, Laverne, and Dick all attended school in Okeene. She adored her brothers and remained close to them throughout the years.  She and her family took numerous trips to Grand Junction, Colorado to visit them later.

Following graduation from Okeene High School in May of 1946, she and three other classmates moved to Oklahoma City where they shared an apartment on Classen Blvd.  She quickly became employed by Western Bus Line keeping the payroll books.

It was on December 1 ^st of 1946 when she married her high school sweetheart George Keck Jr., in

Fairview, which became her lifelong home.  Dorris and George were blessed with three children Randy, Rod, and Robin.  The couple farmed raising wheat, cattle, pigs and turkeys.  They owned and operated Keck Brothers car dealership selling Plymouth, Desotos, and Detroit diesel engines, the Fairview Packing Plant, and the Feedlot II Restaurant.  All of their work and activities helped build the sense of community in Fairview as well as deepen opportunities for fellowship.

The couple loved traveling and taking the kids on numerous camping trips, frequently pulling the camper to Roman Nose State Park, various locations in Colorado, and Yellowstone National Park just to name a few. In the prime of their life, flying to Colorado Springs with friends then later traveling to various other areas of Colorado with family was one of Dorris' favorite places to vacation.

Dorris will be remembered for being an artistic spirit, always stylish, loving personality, and a big smile.  She possessed a genuine love for her family and friends, watched sports and late night shows, and was a generous gift giver.  She was a lifelong bridge player and also enjoyed gardening, swimming in her swimming pool, painting, and working with stained glass.  Her active lifestyle no doubt contributed to her being a strong woman and enjoying a long life on earth.

Dorris was present and active in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She took every opportunity to attend their events and celebrate them as they grew up. She was a gifted hostess and cook, who gathered the family to celebrate every birthday and holiday together. She always had lemon drops in a pill bottle in her purse to share. When her children were young, she cooked homemade pizzas every Sunday night.  For family holidays, she made delicious cheese verenikas and birthday cakes.  Every summer, she made jelly – sand plum and apricot, using apricots from her own trees.

Left to cherish Dorris' memory are her son Rod and wife Twylia Keck, daughter Robin and husband Randy Cofer; six grandchildren, Cassidee and husband Travis Fortune, Kara and husband Blake Simonson, Lincoln Keck, Tyler and wife Lindsey Cofer, Mason and wife Lindsey Keck, Corey and wife Morgan Cofer.  Thirteen great grandchildren-Jazlyn, Brenner and Hallee Fortune; Ava, Penn, and Warren Simonson; Finley, Griffin, and Palmer Keck; Jax and Briggs Cofer; Brecken Keck; and Clara Cofer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, husband George, and son Randy.

The family thanks all of the compassionate caregivers and visitors over the last couple of years for providing contentment and joyful living conditions for Dorris which kept her active and happy.
