Graveside Services for Dorthy (Howerton) Morgan, 91, of Fairview, will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend David Mendenhall will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Dorthy Marie Morgan was born March 14, 1919 south of Fairview, Oklahoma to Henry Thomas and Ida Bell (Carter) Howerton and passed away March 24, 2010 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center.

Dorthy Marie (Howerton) Morgan grew up in the Fairview area. She attended school in Longdale. Dorthy married Marvin O. Morgan in June of 1954 in Enid, Oklahoma. They lived in Wichita for many years before they returned to Fairview. Dorthy worked as a waitress in her younger years. Even after retirement she was still very active. Everyone who knew Dorthy remembers her as a very energetic, loving person. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Dorthy is survived by one brother "Dude" Howerton and wife Gretta; two sisters, Thelma Parkins of Garber, and Laverna Howerton of Enid; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Almon Glen Howerton as an infant and Hubert Howerton; and three sisters, Mildred Kelly, Ruby Hastings and Elsie Peck.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Fairview with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. acting as custodian.
