Obituary

Funeral Services for Earlene N. Wells, 67, of Fairview, will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Fairview. The Reverend David Mendenhall and Kris Ewbank will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be Tuesday 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. and at the church prior to the service.

Earlene Nell Wells was born October 31, 1940 to Madelyn Maleta (Tibbals) Hollums in Texas and passed away September 28, 2008 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Earlene was raised by her adoptive parents, Charles and Rose Darrow, near Chester, Oklahoma. She attended school at Longdale until the death of her father. Earlene and her mother then moved to Fairview where she remained until her death. Earlene attended high school in Fairview. In 1957, she married Willis Outhier in Arkansas. Willis was killed in a tragic accident in 1965. Earlene attended Enid Beauty College and started her career that spanned over 40 years. In 1967, she married Del Zahorsky in Oklahoma City. They owned the Conoco Filling Station in Fairview. Earlene focused mainly on her career as a beautician and as a loving mother. She married Gene Wells in 1976 in Fairview. Gene was her best friend and took loving care of her. Earlene loved gardening and designing flower arrangements. She was an excellent cook and was noted for being an outstanding baker. Most of all she loved her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Gene Wells of Fairview; four children and nine grandchildren: one son, Steve and Debbie Zahorsky of Flower Mound, Texas and their children Kyle Zahorsky and Taylor Forester; three daughters, Pam and Doug Sells of Shawnee, Oklahoma and their children, Chad and Kerri Metcalf, Jennifer Scott, Rob Sells, and Jennifer and Mark Unruh; Debbie and Bailey Scott of Shawnee, Oklahoma and their children Abigail Scott and Alexandria Scott; Lisa Gracey of Norman, Oklahoma and her daughter Monica Gracey; four great-grandchildren, Brace Unruh, Braylee Unruh, Jayce Metcalf and Laynee Metcalf; three brothers, William D. Wyatt of Houston, Texas, Bobby Lee Wyatt of Midland, Texas and Carl Ray Hollums of Midland, Texas and one sister, Penny Warkentin of Dallas, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Willis and son Rick Wells.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church with Fairview Funeral Home Inc acting as custodians of the funds.
