Funeral Services for Ella Jean Schroeder, 81, will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Central Christian Church in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverends Gilbert Forrest and Ronnie Hopkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lonestar Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Ella Jean Schroeder was born December 27, 1929 to Isaac Loyd and Ottillia (Lichty) Williams in Cheyenne Valley, Oklahoma and passed away on March 21, 2011 at the St. Mary's Regional Medical Center, Enid, Oklahoma.

Ella Jean attended Cheyenne Valley School and rode the school bus 12 years. During that time she was very active in 4-H club, holding the office of secretary. Ella won several 4-H trips to Stillwater. She attended Cheyenne Valley Baptist Church. Ella worked hard on the farm doing chores, gardening canning and always found a little time to climb mountains and look for arrow heads. After graduation she attended Alva State Teachers College for 4 years earning her Bachelors Degree. She taught school in Cleo Springs where she met the love of her life Willis Schroeder. On May 3, 1952 Ella and Willis married at the Pastors study in the First Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma. They moved to Sacramento, California, where she was employed by the State of California as a computer programmer. The couple also lived in Fairfield. Ella Jean and Willis had one son, Glenn Schroeder.
In 1983 she returned to her old home place in Cheyenne Valley to take care of her ailing mother. After the passing of her mother she moved to Fairview. She was active in the Fairview Senior Citizens and served as secretary for many years. She loved to sew and make embroidered baby quilts. Ella loved to travel, play cards and play with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ella is survived by one son, Glenn Dean Schroeder and his wife JoAnn of Custer City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Aaron Dean Schroeder and wife Tiffany of Savannah, Georgia, Rebecca Woerner and husband Charles of Fairview, Oklahoma, Ben Hulse of Clinton, Oklahoma, John Hulse and wife Kristen of Longdale, Oklahoma; Sabrina Oldham and husband John of Wichita, Kansas; and eleven great grandchildren and one brother Leroy and wife Virginia Williams of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brothers, Floyd Williams and lifelong friend, Willis Schroeder.

Memorials may be made to the Cheyenne Valley Community Center or the Cheyenne Valley Alumni Association with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodians.
