A celebration of her life for Eloise S. Chamberlain, 82, was January 21, at Lake Talquin Baptist Church in Tallahassee , FL. She was cremated at her request. A memorial service will be June 14, 2008 at 2:30 pm in the Funeral Home Chapal. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Eloise S. Chamberlain, 82, who retired as a schoolteacher and grocery store owner, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, in the Magnolia House Assisted Living Center , Quincy FL.
She was born July 28, 1925 to Alph and Alice Suber in the Providence, FL Community. She grew up there and attended Greensboro Schools, graduating in 1943. She graduated from Florida State University in 1961. Eloise met Jay "Bob" Chamberlain during World War II. They were married January 6, 1946 and farmed in Fairview, OK for 7 years before returning to Quincy, FL where she taught journalism and English. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Quincy.
She is survived by her children, Garen and Eva Martens of Fairview, OK., Buddy and Melissa Herring of Tallahassee, Randy and Mary Karbs of Edmond, OK.; grandchildren, Jason and Cristi Martens of Tulsa, OK., Galen and Ashley Martens of Tulsa, Kyli Herring, Robbie and Alicia Daigle and Haley Herring all of Tallahassee, Harry Karbs and Laura Karbs of Edmond, OK; great-grandchildren, Jake and Anna Martens, Harper Martens of Tulsa, Kayli Daigle of Tallahassee; her sisters, Nell Wynn of Panama City, FL, Jane Suber of Greensboro, FL and Dot Suber of Providence, FL; and many other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; her parents; and a grandson, Jackson Karbs.
