Obituary

Graveside Services for Elresa "Pinky" Roberts, 90, will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Rusk Cemetery in Fairview, Oklahoma. Mark Burrell will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Elresa "Pinky" Roberts was born May 9, 1919 to Roy and Bessie (Presler) Wells in Fairview, Oklahoma and passed away on April 3, 2010 at the Greenbrier Nursing Home in Enid, Oklahoma.

Elresa grew up on the family farm east of Fairview and attended Fairview Schools, graduating from Fairview High School in 1938. After school, she went to work at the Fairview Abstract Office for a few years. On July 3, 1941, she married Ira Albert Roberts at her parent's home. They were blessed with two children, daughter Judy and son Gary. Pinky spent most of her life as a homemaker. She always remained very active in the community. Pinky served as a board member for the Rusk Cemetery for many years, was a member of the Fairview Hospital Foundation where she also worked as a volunteer. She belonged to the Fairview American Legion Auxiliary, King Hagen Post 51. Pinky was a lifetime member of the Church of God Seventh Day. She loved to sew and was very good at it. She was an excellent cook and nothing pleased her more than preparing a meal for her family and many friends. Pinky was a loving mother and grandmother that enjoyed life and lived it to its fullest. All who loved and knew her will miss her.

Pinky is survived by her son, Gary R. Roberts of Fairview; daughter Judy Walker and husband Butch of Enid; five grandchildren, Derek Walker, Jeff Walker and wife Katherine, Lesli Bickerstaff and husband Ben, Gunnar Roberts, wife Jenni and Ashleigh Flores and husband Michael; and six great-grandchildren.

Her parents, and husband Ira preceded her in death.

Memorials may be made to the Fairview Church of God Seventh Day or the Fairview Hospital Foundation with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodians.
