Graveside Services for Emerson Conn Boston, 90, will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 at Cherryvale Cemetery, Southard, Oklahoma. The Reverend Leonard Vogt will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Emerson Conn Boston was born April 29, 1918 in Longdale, Oklahoma to Robert Conn and Grace Wilma (Walton) Boston and passed away Sunday, September 28, 2008 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center Fairview, Oklahoma.

Emerson spent his youth farming and ranching with his father. He graduated high school in Longdale, Oklahoma. He was inducted into the United States Army Air Corp on April 5, 1941 and served during World War II and the Korean War. He fought in Papaon, New Guinea, Luzon, South Philippines, Ryukuys and was awarded Four Bronze Stars for these campaigns. He had a no lost time lapel button issued, an Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Campaign Ribbon and six overseas bars. Emerson received an honorable discharge, as a Sergeant, on November 25th, 1952.
Emerson married Nadine L. Wagner on August 1, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two sons. After his time in the service he faired military aircraft throughout the United States. While traveling, Emerson traveled through Colorado and later moved there with his wife and sons. He often returned to Oklahoma to visit his father and other family members. Emerson was a non-destructive inspector for General Iron Works for 27 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion. Sadly, Nadine passed away on August 9, 1995. In 1999, Emerson moved to Fairview, Oklahoma where he resided until his death.

He is survived by two sons, Eldon Boston of Colorado, Loren Boston of Fairbanks, Alaska; four grandchildren, Brandy Boston of Colorado, Jenifer Boston of Fairbanks, Joseph Boston, of Fairbanks and Jamie Boston of Kenai, Alaska; five great-grandchildren, Katie Attlesson, Lexy Attleson, Shawn Attleson, all of Fairbanks, Alex and Christopher Miller and several friends left in the this area. Emerson was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Nadine, five sisters, Hattie Cluster of Kansas, LaVhonna Steele of Arizona, Alyce Barber of Oregon , Wilma Vennes of California and Lois Strohm of Fairview, Oklahoma; and one brother, Howard Boston of Okeene, Oklahoma.
