Funeral Services for Emma May (Howerton) Geiger, age 80, will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Fairview First United Methodist Church. The Reverend Rich Redinger will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Fairview, Oklahoma. Local arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010 from 9 am to 5 pm and Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 9 am to 8 pm at the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Emma May Geiger was born September 28, 1929 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Leo and Edith (Boston) Howerton and went home to be with the Lord, February 1, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Emma grew up in Fairview and attended Longdale Public Schools graduating in 1947. Emma worked at TG&Y in Fairview. She married George Geiger, Jr. on May 8, 1947 and to this union four children were born. They then moved to Oklahoma City were she worked at Cat's Drug, then as a housekeeper at Deaconess Hospital for six years. Emma lived in Oklahoma City for over 35 years, except for a brief time when she returned to Fairview to care for her father. In 1985, Emma returned to Fairview to live and worked for MAGB as a driver for over 10 years. She then moved back to Oklahoma City in 2002 where she lived in an apartment before moving into Lakes Care Center where she resided for over two years before her passing.

Emma enjoyed going to garage sales and fruit and vegetable stands. She had a warm heart and would do anything for others to help them. Emma loved her family and friends.

She is survived by her children; two daughters, Donna Geiger of Oklahoma City, Okla. and May and husband Jack Sharp of Edmond; Okla.; one son George and wife Renee Geiger of Oklahoma City, Okla; three grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Melody and husband Drew Millburn and Paul Geiger and four great grandchildren, Timmy, Katie, Austyn and Asia Geiger.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, K. Allen Howerton; one sister, Veda Lee Hammel; and one son, Ronald (Ronnie) William Geiger.

Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation Diabetes Division with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
