Erma Arlene McCaslin was born February 15, 1928 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Edgar John Pharis and Ethel Verona (Page) Pharis and passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Erma was born on a farm west of Fairview. She grew up in the Longdale area and graduated from Longdale High School in 1946. She married Charles McCaslin on December 21, 1945 and moved to Kansas. They started their family and devoted much of her time raising their three children. Patsy was born in Kansas, and then the family moved back to Oklahoma. After returning to Oklahoma their son Charles and youngest son Rickey were born. A short time later, the family moved back to Kansas. After Patsy graduated from high school, they moved to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where Charles and Rickey graduated. Erma and Charles moved to Hobe Sound, Florida. With the children grown, she started in the Real Estate business. They lived in Florida for ten years then returned home, west of Fairview where she had grown up as a child. Erma continued in the Real Estate business. Her passion was saving the Longdale School for the residents of Longdale and past alumni and she was one of the founding members of the Longdale Gym Association. In the last few years, Erma was the driving force behind raising funds for the establishment of Page Park in Longdale. She loved to quilt, crochet, attend garage sales and auctions, and greatly enjoyed traveling to gospel concerts.
