Graveside services for Evelyn Nickel, age 72, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Cleo Springs Cemetery with the Reverend Charles Newton officiating. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Evie was born October 24, 1940 in Mott, North Dakota to Joe and Anna (Mayer) Miller and passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid, Oklahoma.

Evie attended Mott and Haynes Country Schools in North Dakota. She and Emil Zimbelman were married in 1957 and to this union were born three sons and two daughters. Following her divorce to Emil, Evie moved the children to Oklahoma where they settled in the Aline, Cleo Springs and Fairview communities. She and Henry Nickel were married on May 12, 1999 in Enid, Oklahoma. Henry passed away in 2009. She worked as a CMA for 20 years at the Fairview Fellowship Home.

She loved gardening, fishing and collecting anything to do with frogs. She was a fabulous cook and enjoyed cooking German food like they had while growing up in North Dakota. Henry and Evie enjoyed hunting for treasures with their metal detectors. Evie spent many hours bowling throughout her life and enjoyed being with her friends. She also played the slot machines at the Canton Casino.

She is survived by her sons; Ivan Zimbelman of Fairview, Oklahoma, Sherlem Zimbelman of Aline, Oklahoma and Allan Zimbelman of Nash, Oklahoma, her daughters: Sharon Woods of Enid, Oklahoma and Shelley Rauh of Bison, Oklahoma, two brothers; Harvey Miller of Enid, Oklahoma and Dennis Miller of Livingston, Texas and one grandson J.R. Zimbelman of Waynoka, Oklahoma and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evie was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, one brother and a grandson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Cancer Division with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
