Obituary

Funeral services for Gary Paul Ralston, 69, of Fairview, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at the Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. Pastor Ricky Chance will officiate. Burial will follow in Hydro Masonic Cemetery north of Hydro, OK. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Gary Ralston was born to Paul and Dorothy (Larson) Ralston, January 21, 1947. He was born in Hinton, OK where the family remained till his senior year. Then the family moved to Hydro, OK where Gary graduated from high school in 1965.

Following graduation, Gary served in the United States Army, in Germany for three years. After returning home in 1968, he married Deborah Lynn Jones. They moved to Fairview, where they had three children together; Mitsi Paulette, Gary Todd, and Virginia "Ginny" Rebecca. Gary worked at the Fairview Packing Plant for eleven years. He then moved to Thomas, OK and opened his own business, as a Butcher. He married Barbara Kester, and gained three step-children; Diane, Dena, and Dee. Gary lived in Thomas, OK for many years. Then he moved to Seiling, OK and opened the Seiling Locker. After that, he moved to Woodward, OK and worked for Ray's Meat Market for several years. He then returned to Fairview to retire so that he could be close with his family and friends.

Gary enjoyed going to the Senior Citizens where he played pool, cards, and dominos. He enjoyed the food and friendships that he made there. Gary loved the great outdoors. In his younger years, Gary loved to coon hunt with his hounds. He had many hunting buddies. He later enjoyed raising and fighting chickens. He shared his passion of fishing and hunting with his children and grandchildren. He loved being around family and friends, telling them jokes and making them laugh. Gary never met a stranger and enjoyed making new friends wherever he went.

Gary is survived by his son Todd and wife Robyn Ralston of Fairview, OK, his daughter Virginia and husband Butch Walenta of Ringwood, OK, two other daughters; Diane Conklin and Dena Wiese of Thomas, OK, a son Dee Kester of Thomas, OK, five granddaughters; Ashlee, Audrey, Addisyn, Caitlyn and Claire, also Derick, Zacharey, Baily and Rae Rae, and four great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Kelly Walker and husband Obie and Paula Scott and husband Skip.
