Gearal Dene Moneypenny, 83, of Fairview Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held on August 5, 2023, at 10:30 a.m., at the Fairview First Baptist Church with Derek Cox officiating. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma with Zachary Moneypenny officiating.
The viewing will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 4 at the Fairview Funeral Home.
Gerry was born in Mountainburg, Arkansas to Charles and Claudia Pierce on August 26, 1939. She graduated from Earlsboro High School. She married Roy D Moneypenny on September 27, 1956, in Seminole, Oklahoma. Gerry was a stay- at- home mom until her youngest child started to school and then held a variety of jobs. Her favorite was when she co-owned the Paint 'N' Gift Shop where she taught painting using a variety of mediums. She was an active member of the Fairview Mother's Club and the Association of Mother's Clubs. There she served as the Association President and held many other offices. Gerry was a member of the Farmers and Merchants traveling bowling league where she competed and won many tournaments. The league traveled all over the United States. Gerry was also a dedicated Christian and active member of the Fairview First Baptist Church.
Gerry is preceded in death by her husband Roy, infant son, parents, and sister.
Gerry is survived by Debbie Moneypenny of Enid, Nita Moneypenny of Fairview, and Dewayne Moneypenny of Centerton, Arkansas. Grandchildren Zachary Moneypenny and wife Nicole of Enid, Heather Chill and husband Chandler of Fairview, Kristin Hursh and husband Kaleb of Fairview, Kaleb Moneypenny and wife Amanda of Oklahoma City and 6 great-grandchildren, and brother Ron Pierce and wife Bev of Vernal, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the Fairview First Baptist Church for new flooring in the fellowship hall.
