Obituary

The Memorial service for George William Allen, 69, of Isabella, will be 2:00 p.m., June 11, 2011 at the Isabella Nazarene Church in Isabella. The Rev. Nathan Twyman will officiate. He was cremated per his request. Cremation services by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

George was born May 31, 1941 in Masham, Oklahoma to Leroy William (Little Bill) Allen and Mabel Melissa (Peterson) Allen. He passed away on May 27, 2011 at the Okeene Municipal Hospital in Okeene, Oklahoma

George graduated from Pawnee High School in 1959. He worked harvest, and drove a truck for two years. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1963 and served for four years active duty and two years reserve duty, during the Vietnam War. He married Mary Romero in 1965 in California. They had four children. After an honorable discharge from the USN he worked as a mechanic in Alva, Oklahoma and then in Enid, Oklahoma. In the mid 1980's George began working as a truck driver and drove on and off until 2004 when he retired due to health problems. He married Jean Allen and during that marriage they lived in Enid, then Colorado and Louisiana. George returned to Enid for some time and then moved to Maricopa, Arizona for two years. He returned to Oklahoma and moved in with his brother in December, 2010.

Surviving are wife Jean Allen of Enid; one son Roger Allen of San Diego, California; two daughters, Janice Allen of Maricopa, Arizona and Diana Allen of San Diego, California; one brother, Emory Allen and wife Norma of Isabella, Oklahoma; and four sisters, Ellen Marie Prosek and husband Paul of Fort Worth, Texas; Helen Reihm of Mt View, Missouri; Beulah Duffy and husband Warren of Enid, and Alfreda Ramsey and husband Archie of Tulsa, Oklahoma

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Mary; two brothers, Harvey and Jim Allen and son Billy Allen.
