Obituary

Funeral services for George Eldon Cruson, 80, of Fairview, will be 2:00 p.m., October 21, 2010, at the Fairview Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ronnie Hopkins officiating. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

George Eldon Cruson was born November 11, 1929 in Stanford, Oklahoma to George Washington and Cordelia Cheatham Cruson and died October 18, 2010 at the Summit Living Center in Okeene, Oklahoma.

He was raised in Stanford, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Air Force as a supply sergeant and was stationed in Alaska. Throughout his life he enjoyed fishing, he also loved to ride and compete on horses. He competed in Pony Express, 7-man relay and play days. Moving to Fairview 20 years ago, he enjoyed playing golf everyday at the Lakeside Golf Course and drinking coffee with his friends around town. He was very fond of his great grandchildren and enjoyed going to Sissy's jr. rodeos.

He is survived by his wife Parka of the home; one George Micheal Cruson Sr. and wife Carol of Corinth, Texas; one step-daughter, Sandra Sue Lorenz and husband Steve of Woodward, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, George Michael Jr. and wife Amy, Crystal and husband Terri Newman and Ryan Wellshear; four great grandchildren, Savannah and Madison Cruson, Steven Kirk and Sissy Newman; and one sister, Beatrice Moore of Clinton, Oklahoma.

His parents, one son, John Patrick Cruson, one grandson, Thomas Christopher Kellam, three sisters, Nellie, Willie Lee and Lorine and three brothers, Jess, Cleo and Clarence preceded him in death.

Memorial contributions may be made through Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. to the American Legion or OMRF, Lung Division.
