Obituary

Funeral service for Georgetta F. Levings will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Church of God in Christ Mennonite with a private family burial at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Cemetery. Deacon Wayne Unruh will officiate and the Fairview Funeral Home Inc will be handling the arrangements.

Georgetta Fay (Dow) Levings was born on April 28, 1924 to Enos and Georgia Patterson Dow of the Dane community, southwest of Fairview. She departed this life on November 30, 2015 at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview surrounded by her family and friends.
Georgetta married Lyle L. Levings on March 27, 1943 in Fairview. They established their first home southwest of Fairview where they farmed. In 1952 they left the farm and moved to town where she and Lyle continued to raise their four boys. Over the years, she worked at a laundry, was a substitute rural mail carrier and eventually ran her own contract mail route. In the summer of 1994, she and Lyle moved to a small acreage south of town where she enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting and spoiling her grandchildren. In March 2008, she moved to the Fairview Fellowship Home, where she resided until her death.

Georgetta is survived by her four sons-Gary and his wife Julianne of Tijeras, NM, Larry of Calico Rock, AR, Gael of Santa Fe, NM and Randy and his wife Marilyn of Fairview, OK; her six grandchildren-Rob and Kathaleen Levings of Pensacola, FL, Eric Levings of Calico Rock, AR, Matt and Lana Levings, Renee and Tony Schmidt, Travis and Kari Levings and Jason Levings and Charity Levings all of Fairview, OK; and her eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving are her three brothers- Warden Dow of Fairview, OK, Vance Dow of Norman, OK and Porter Dow of Ft. Worth, TX- and a special family friend Michael Shea of Santa Fe, NM.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lyle, her parents and her sister, Mary Gosney.

Memorial contributions can be made to ALS Foundation with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
