Funeral Services for Goldie W. Kusch will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene in Fairview, Oklahoma. The Reverend Charles McKinney will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
Goldie W. Kusch was born in Henderson, Nebraska August 26, 1912, to Anna Sperling and Edward K. Kusch. She passed away April 21, 2008, at the Fairview Fellowship Home in Fairview, Oklahoma.
Goldie moved to Meade, Kansas when she was 15 and lived there for six years. On November 5, 1930 she joined and was baptized in the Mennonite Church. In 1932, she joined the Church of the Nazarene and the family moved to Fairview in 1936. She worked in Pilot Point, Texas for 161/2 years in Rest Cottage, a home for unwed mothers. She also worked at a skid row mission in California for a year. She returned to Fairview to take care of her parents, also working at Fairview Grade School lunch room and as a nurses aide at Bass Hospital. Goldie was a member of the Fairview First Church of the Nazarene and was very active in missionary work.
Goldie is survived by six sisters, Louise Pickering of Little River, Kansas; Diana Stackle of Porterville, California; Mary Ann Baum of San Luis Obispo, California; Elsie Lamle of Meno, Oklahoma; Amanda Rowe of Boise, Idaho, and Bertie Foster of Enid, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and 3 brothers; Ted Kusch, Abe Kusch, and Edward Kusch.
Memorial donations can be made to the Fairview Church of the Nazarene, with Fairview Funeral Home, Inc. serving as custodian of the funds.
