Funeral Services for Harold Jacob Fast, 89, of Fairview, will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church. The Reverend Brad Penner will officiate. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by the Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Visitation will be from 9 am to 5 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and from 9am to 11:30 am on Saturday at Fairview Funeral Home Inc.

Harold Jacob Fast was born January 21, 1920 southeast of Fairview to David H. and Sarah (Penner) Fast and passed away January 4, 2010 at the Fairview Regional Medical Center in Fairview, Oklahoma.

Harold attended Fairview High School where he was promoted a year and graduated in 1937. He also attended Tabor College and graduated in 1940 with an Associate of Art Degree. He accepted Christ as his savor when he was 12 years old and became a member of the South Mennonite Brethren Church.

During World War II he served four years in Civilian Public Service. On June 13, 1948 he married Betty Ann Isaak and lived on a farm southeast of Fairview where they farmed wheat and raised cattle.

Harold always enjoyed Sunday school and taught for many years. He served 15 years on the Board of Directors for Sooner Cooperative, Inc. He also served four years on the Major County Soil Conservation Board.

Harold leaves to mourn his departure two daughters Pam Hipsher and her husband Kevin and their son Brian and Carolyn Thompson and her husband Dennis and their son Ryan; one brother Eugene Fast and his wife Freda; one sister Rosalie Kliewer and one brother-in-law Edward Korell and wife Gerry and fourteen nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty Ann, brother Walter, sister-in-law Doris and brother-in-law Ruben Kliewer.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Mennonite Brethren Church with Fairview Funeral Home Inc. acting as custodian.
