Jeffrey Brian Osmus, 33, of La Porte, formally of Fairview, Oklahoma, went to be with his Lord and Savior May 23, 2008 after a courageous ten month battle with cancer. He was one of God's special creations and was victorious in this fight as he reached Heaven's gate. Jeff was a gentleman in the truest form and served to make everyone around him feel special. Everyone wanted to be Jeff's friend! He loved his life as a devoted husband; father, brother, son, co-worker and friend.
Jeff found great enjoyment in his job as a Safety and Health Coordinator/Project Safety Manager at GCA in Bayport. He proudly served as a Deacon for Taylor Lake Christian Church. As a graduate of Oklahoma State University, he was a lifelong member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Gamma Delta Chapter. Jeff's passions in life, aside from loving his wife and daughter, included serving the Lord as a Christian man, being one with nature out working in his yard, cheering on his beloved OU Sooners, catching a Boston Red Sox game and hitting the golf course for a competitive game with his friends. Jeff was truly a sports enthusiast with a great love for all college sports.
He is survived by his wife and number one cheerleader Erin Crabb Osmus; his beautiful daughter Lakin Elizabeth; mother and father Joyce and William Osmus of Fairview, Oklahoma; brother William "Brad" Osmus of Spring, TX; grandmother Betty Osmus of Okeene Oklahoma; parents-in-law: Barbara Jennings, Jim Crabb and Cathy Hanks; brother-in-law Johnathan Crabb and wife Laura; 6 nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and countless loyal friends and prayer warriors.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to "Jeff, Erin & Lakin Osmus Permanent Scholarship Fund", 1730 Old Kirby Road, Seabrook, TX 77586, with the Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodians.
