Jerry Dale Koehn's Obituary
Mass of Christian Burial for Jerry Dale Koehn, 70, of Fairview, will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Fairview. Father Kalivela will officiate. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma.
Jerry Dale Koehn was born January 11, 1941 to Cornelius L. and Katherine (Kahn) Koehn in Fairview, Oklahoma and passed away April 7, 2011 in the Highland Park Manor, Enid, Oklahoma.
Jerry grew up in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School in 1959. In 1961 Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a Medical Specialist and served for 2 years. He was Honorably Discharges in 1963. After he returned to Fairview Jerry went to work for U.S. Gypsum. In 1965 he married Mary Ann Storms in Wellington, Kansas. In 1969 Jerry started working for Great Lakes Carbon Plant in Kremlin, he worked for them 12 years before returning to Fairview in 1982. Jerry then went to work for TransOK in Ames and later Crescent until he retired for the second time. In 2003 he went to work in Garden City, Kansas for Universal Compression for 2 years and then returned to Fairview and went to work for Key Energy until he finally retired for the third time.
He loved fishing, building bird houses and moving his camper around the yard and camping. Jerry loved to work in his shop and around the yard. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren and most of all Ginger, his dog, that traveled everywhere with him. Ginger was his love and joy.
Jerry is survived by his wife Mary Ann Koehn of the home; his sons, Neil and wife Krissy Koehn, Jason and Dianna Koehn all of Fairview; daughter, Katherine Koehn of Yukon; Special dog, Ginger; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; three brothers, Allen, James, and Randy Koehn; 5 sisters, Lala Young, Bernice Redgers, Marjorie Schmidt, Fern Koehn, and Gail Koehn.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two brother-in-laws and three nieces.
In leiu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Midtown Ronald McDonald House in Wichita or OMRF Alzheimer's division with Fairview Funeral Home Inc serving as custodians of the funds.
