Visitation will be held April 22, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm at Fairview Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be held April 23, 2026 at 10 am  at Square Cedar Cemetery with Military Honors.

Jimmy Leon Hamen, 78, of Cleo Springs, Oklahoma passed away on April 18, 2026 surrounded by family and friends. Jimmy was born March 2, 1948 in Enid, Oklahoma the son of Emil and Phillis (Heffron) Hamen. Jimmy graduated from Cleo Springs High School in 1966.

Jimmy joined the US Army in January 1967, and served until honorably discharged in May 1972.  While serving in the army, Jimmy was stationed overseas in Vietnam.  He served two terms during the Vietnam War working on helicopters.  He sent home rare photos of himself with the helicopters.

Jimmy married Barbara (Cox) Hamen on September 26, 1970 at the Cleo Springs Methodist Church. Together, they have four daughters and were married for over fifty-five years.  Through the years Jimmy and Barbara have enjoyed traveling the US together with their daughters.

Jimmy worked in the oil and gas industry for several years starting with Texas Oil and Gas. Later retiring from Atlas in 2015. He devoted his time to his work which was his passion. He enjoyed working outside.  Over the years, Jimmy became a go to in the company knowing where pipes and lines would be, or who to contact about land.  Though it was work, he gained many friends over the years even seeing them all over the US while vacationing.

Jimmy especially enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years with his family.  He loved South Fork, Colorado.  When the girls were little, South Fork became one of their yearly vacation spots, as well as his get away with his brothers for their hunting trips. He also enjoyed lazy fishing days with his family at local lakes and quiet morning hunts out in the woods.  When not out hunting or fishing, you would find him out on a tracker or working on some kind of equipment.

As Jimmy retired, he continued to enjoy his time farming and working on equipment. When not busy, he loved sitting outside visiting with friends and having coffee.  He was always quick to have a story or joke.

Remaining to cherish Jimmy's memory are his wife, Barbara; four daughters, Melissa, Heather, Miranda, and Andrea; brother, JB and wife Stella; brother in law; Allen Cox and wife Debra; sister in law, Rose Anne Hamen; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jimmy in death are his parents; brothers, Charles, Richard and David; sisters, Mary Wampler, Norma Naugle, and two infant sisters.

Memorial donations in Jimmy's memory may be directed to Square Cedar Cemetery or the Cleo Springs Baptist Church.
