Memorial Services with military honors will be held at the Fort Sill National Cemetery located at 2648 Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538 at 2 pm, Friday, June 12, 2015. Arrangements by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.
John was born July 29, 1946 in Pennsylvania to Charles and Rita Brown and passed away at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, May 20, 2015.
John Grew up in Pennsylvania and shortly after high school he joined the United States Army and honorably served until his retirement from the army after a little more than 20 years of service.
On June 5, 1995, John married Norma Kehn in Enid, Oklahoma after a 10 year courtship. John's family grew with the addition of 3 step-sons. They remained living in Enid. Norma and John moved to Fairview in 2005. After Norma's death in 2007 he met his life partner Kimberly Kurns and he added one more step –son, Jesse Kurns and one step daughter, Donnice Kurns.
John is survived by his life partner Kimberly Kurns of Fairview, OK., four step-sons, Marvin Kehn, Jr. of Fairview, Gary Kehn and wife JoAnn of Enid, Bobby Kehn of Blackwell, Oklahoma, and Jesse Kurns of Arizona; and one step daughter Donnice Kurns of Enid, 2 step granddaughters and 2 step grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Norma.
