Graveside Services for Josephine "Jo" (Janzen) Foster, 89, will be 2 pm, May 4, 2009 at the Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, Oklahoma. Kris Ewbank will officiate. Arrangements are by Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 3 and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 4 at Fairview Funeral Home, Inc.

Josephine "Jo" (Janzen) Foster was born January 11, 1920 in Orienta, Oklahoma to John and Christina (Edinger) Janzen and passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at her home near Fairview, Oklahoma.

Jo attended Independence School and graduated from the eighth grade, however she attended eight grade two times after that with her younger brother. Jo married Roy Walter Foster on June 17, 1942 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. They were blessed with two sons. During the early years of marriage, when Roy was in the service, Jo worked in several cafes, did laundry, cleaning, and also was a nanny or housekeeper. They moved several times, finally settling back in Fairview. They opened their first dry cleaning business, Fosters Cleaners in 1958. Their son Curtis helped them on and off until Roy's death in 1990. Curtis then began working full time with Jo. Jo ran the business until retiring in 2001. Jo and Roy began raising their granddaughter, Christina, in 1974 as their daughter. Jo attended several churches over the years, in her latter years she was a member of the Fairview First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Association of Dry Cleaners.

Jo is survived son Richard L. Foster of Lookeba, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Christina Foster Smith and her husband Darren of Fairview, Johnny Bailey and Kathi Bailey; one brother, Wayman "Ray" Janzen of California and one sister, Zelpha Robinson of Fairview; and four great-grandchildren, Jerrod Murray and wife Tiffanie, Michael England, Joshua England and Savannah Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Jo was preceded in death by husband Roy; two sisters; three brothers; one son, Curtis Foster and one grandson, Michael Leland Bailey.

Memorial contributions may be made to OMRF, Cancer Division or Stem Cell Research, with Fairview Funeral Home acting as custodian.
